This movie was remarkably different even after the 23 movies later in the MCU it stands out. Probably the best MCU movie (critics-wise). Captain America: The Winter Soldier Speech. Cap fight in Avengers: Endgame was one of many epic moments to give the character an appropriately entertaining sendoff and even a year since the film came out, there's still more to learn about the scene. You (Nat) and me, we stay here on the ground.
Fans may have been disappointed to see the original Captain America go, but the Cap vs. While the Captain America mantle will live on with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Evans and Steve Rogers are unlikely to return (any time soon, at least). Like the fans themselves, Avengers: Endgame's Captain America fight gave the Hargrave brothers an awesome memory to hold onto as Marvel moves into their next phase. At the end of the movie, Steve Rogers retired from being Captain America, and Evans wrapped up his time in the MCU. When so much of the Captain America fight was CGI - even his helmet - it's neat to learn more about the practical efforts that went into bringing the scene to life. It's cool to know that not only was the fight sequence done by two brothers, it also pitted Captain America's Endgame stunt double against his double from The Avengers, adding an incredible detail of authenticity to the scene. While some of the stunts in the sequence were performed by Evans, since he had to film both sides of the fight, it seems that Sam and Daniel Hargrave were the stunt doubles for the different versions of Captain America, adding a new layer to how the scene came to life. You get to tell your kids, your grandkids, that that was me and my brother doubling and fighting in that movie. And that's the reason I did it, because that stuff lives forever. Marvel's great at this, but there's a lot of digital face replacement and there's a lot of epic moments where that is the brothers Hargrave duking it out on screen in Avengers: Endgame. That's why I got back in the suit, so that I could say that. Cap fight, it gave Sam Hargrave a chance to wear Captain America's costume again and for the brothers to battle it out on screen: His brother, Daniel Hargrave, took over as Evans' Captain America stunt double for Infinity War and Endgame. Hargrave had been the stunt double for Captain America on both The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, then served as stunt coordinator for Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
